Electrical Installation and Wiring

We all know that electricity can be lethal, which is one reason why in 2005 the government brought in a policy that any work requiring the disconnection of any part of your electrical system must be undertaken by a qualified electrician.

This is why we, at ProTech Property Solutions, offer electrical services and maintenance to cover any type of fault or repair. We employ only fully trained, experienced electricians qualified to a minimum of 16th edition so we are able to self-certify that our work complies with Current Building Regulations.

We are NICEIC approved (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contractors), which is a guarantee of quality workmanship. Our works range from changing bulbs, fuses or units to complete re-wiring. Our dedicated engineers arrive always on time and work with the very minimal disruption to you.

Some of the works we specialise in are:

  • Complete installations or re-wire
  • PAT testing
  • Electric showers
  • Lighting installation-internally and externally
  • Storage heaters
  • Maintenance and repairs
  • Extractor fans
  • Alarms-smoke, burglar and fire
  • Re-wiring
  • Inspections and testing
  • Fault finding and repair
  • Fuse boxes, blown fuses and circuit breakers
  • Shower installation
  • Socket outlets
  • Emergency call-out
  • Electric ovens
  • Electrical tests and inspections

Any electrical fault can turn into a very serious situation. If you suspect a fault please get it checked out immediately.

Recommended maximum intervals between testing of electrical installations:

  • Domestic installations: 10 years
  • Fixed installations: 5 years
  • Commercial installations: 5 years
  • Industrial, external installations and caravans: 3 years
  • Communal areas in blocks: 1 year
  • Places of public entertainment: 1 year
  • Petrol stations and swimming pools: 1 year

It is also advisable when:

  • A property is being prepared to be let
  • Prior selling and after buying property
  • At change of tenancy

Some tips on electrics:

  • Make sure smoke alarms are installed on every floor in your home and are in good working order.
  • Look for telltale signs of electrical problems such as dimming of lights, frequent circuit breaker trips or blown fuses, and contact an electrician.
  • Use light bulbs that are the proper wattage for the fitting-higher wattage bulbs can degrade the wires in and around the fixture.
  • Extension cords used outside should be specifically designed for such a use.
  • Insert plugs fully so no prong is showing and never pull plugs out by the lead.
  • Never cover extension leads.
  • Don't overload cords with too many appliances.
  • Make sure cords do not dangle from the counter where they can be pulled.

Regular safety checks prevent accidents. We are NICEIC accredited. We have more than 25 years of experience in the servicing industry
