Why? Well if you let a gas engineer work on your gas appliances without knowing if they are Gas Safe Registered you could be risking the safety or yourself and others living in your home. An unregistered gas engineer could potentially incorrectly install or repair an appliance which could cause gas leaks, fires or even explosions.
